“May I?” — What to Expect When I Show Up at Your Door (Massage Table in Tow)

Let’s be real: letting someone into your home—especially when you’re about to undress and lie face-down on a massage table—is a whole trust fall situation. I get it. You’re not just inviting in a massage therapist. You’re inviting in energy, intention, and the possibility of actually letting go.

So let’s talk about what happens when I show up at your door. Spoiler: it’s not awkward. It’s actually kind of magical.

1. I’ll arrive early—but not in a weird way.

Expect me about 10–15 minutes before your scheduled session time. If you catch me sitting in my car for a few minutes, don’t worry—I’m not scrolling memes (okay, maybe one meme). More likely, I’m reading over your intake form again, checking in with your needs, and doing a little grounding work to get my energy balanced. I want to be fully present for you.

Once I come in, I’ll set up quietly and efficiently. Your session officially starts when my hands are on you—not while I’m unfolding the table or plugging in the music. I never cut into your hands-on time. The time you paid for? You get every single minute of it.

And afterward, I won’t dash out the door. I usually stick around about 15 minutes post-session (sometimes more if you want to chat deeper about what we worked on, what came up, or what kind of aftercare your body might be asking for). It’s never a rush-and-run experience.

2. No need to deep clean. I promise.

Unless your dog has turned your living room into a ball pit of destruction, you’re fine. I just need enough room for a massage table (think twin bed with some wiggle room), and ideally a calm, cozy vibe. You can light a candle if you’re feelin’ fancy, but truly—no judgment, no pressure.

3. This is sacred time—for you.

From the moment I walk in, I’m creating a little sanctuary in your space. Whether we’re working through muscle tension, emotional release, nervous system reset—or all of the above—this time is all about supporting your body and spirit in the way it needs most. Expect deep presence, intentional touch, and space to just be.

4. We’ll talk just enough.

I’ll ask how you’re feeling, what your body’s been navigating, and what you’re hoping to walk away with. Then, we drop in. If you need to talk mid-session, let it flow. If you need silence and stillness, that’s golden too. This is your experience—not a one-size-fits-all.

5. Don’t plan to “bounce back” right away.

You might feel lighter. You might feel emotional. You might feel like melting into your couch with a blanket burrito. Whatever comes up is normal. Give yourself space after your session. Drink some water. Rest if you can. This is integration time—the part where your nervous system anchors the healing we just stirred up.

6. You’ll probably want to make this a regular thing.

When you experience massage that honors your body, your nervous system, and your energy, it’s hard to go back to anything less. So if you find yourself thinking, “How soon can I do this again?”—you’re not alone.

May is a time of blooming, of softening, of coming back into your body.

Let’s carry that energy into your home, your healing, and your next session.

I’ve got the table. You just bring yourself—and that beautiful exhale.
